Timothy Valentine is currently the Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant Coach for Northeastern University. Timothy has been coaching for 25 years. He has previous experience working at UIC, Hampton, Georgetown University, Elon University, St. Augustine University and Southern Wesleyan University.
  
 
 
How did you first get into coaching? What has been the driver that has kept you in coaching?
My first job was NAIA at SWU for 3 years. I worked with the HC at the high school and AAU program. I love giving opportunities to the underdog. I have been fortune winning at every level. That’s also a part of it all.
 
Who has been your biggest influence in your coaching career? Why?
Coach John Thompson. He always told me to speak the truth and be a student of the game.
 
What is your favorite team meal?
Grilled chicken breast, ziti noodles and red sauce with a Caesar salad.
 
What has been your greatest lesson learned in coaching so far?
Prior preparation is key.
 
What has been your most memorable win?
Conference championship game 2017.

Coach Thompson book. "I came as a shadow" .
 
Fun Fact: Tell us something about yourself that people would be surprised to know about you.
I love history.
 
As a member, what has been the most rewarding aspect/ favorite memory of Rising Coaches for you?
I am a recent member. I love the sharing of information for us in the basketball coaches industry.
