How did you first get into coaching? What has been the driver that has kept you in coaching?

First got into coaching as a student manager and a middle school coach. The way that I saw basketball affect the lives of middle school and college athletes made me realize the universal impact the game can have on life.

Who has been your biggest influence in your coaching career? Why?

My dad has been a middle school teacher and coach for 20+ years. For most of my career, he has been my biggest influence as a teacher and coach. Now, I would say my wife and 2 kids. Every decision is now based around those 3.

What are new ways to impact the coaching industry?

Analytics. They have started to drive coaches' decisions and game planning. Figuring out how to best apply data to your program can change the entire dynamic.

What has been your greatest lesson learned in coaching so far?

Kara Lawson's advice to handle hard better has gotten me through the toughest of times. It is a simple reminder that we can probably all apply to our daily life better!

Tell us a recent book/podcast/movie that has left you inspired as a coach.

Pound the Stone- Joshua Medcalf, Atomic Habits- James Clear,  and Last Chance U.

Fun Fact: Tell us something about yourself that people would be surprised to know about you.

I love to cook! I would consider myself somewhat of a home chef. I guess it is my Cajun heritage on display!
