How did you first get into coaching? What has been the driver that has kept you in coaching?

My last college coach at Lincoln Memorial University. The driving force for me is to watch these young student athletes grow and achieve their dreams.

Who has been the biggest influence in your coaching career? Why?

I have so many but Marc Comstock and Gerald Cox. I've watched how they've interact with their players and other coaches. They found ways to get the best out each player and still show how much they care.

What has been your greatest lesson learned in coaching so far?

Take ownership of your program and recruit guys with good character and the ones that fit your style of play. Also as a long-time assistant, stay loyal to the program and the head coach. Trust is the biggest thing in any program.

What has been your most memorable win?

Wow I have two:
1) Winning the National Championship at Wabash Valley Junior College as a coach.
2) Making it to the NCAA National Championship 2 years after.
Being at WVC we were 69-4 for a combine of 2 season. Then going to the University of Southern Indiana and our second season there playing for another National Championship.

What is your favorite team meal?

Baked chicken with broccoli and angle hair noodles, and a garden salad.

Fun Fact: Tell us something about yourself that people would be surprised to know about you.

I love to cook on my griddle for my family.

As a member, what has been the most rewarding aspect/ favorite memory of Rising Coaches for you?

I love networking and listening to a lot of the coaches talk about their programs. You get to learn from some of the best coaches in the country.
