Member Spotlight: Cameron Flabel

Cameron Flabel is the Graduate Assistant coach at Hawai'i Pacific University. He started his coaching career as a student manager with Idaho State University before moving out to Hawai'i. Get to know Cameron Flabel by reading some of the interview questions we had the opportunity to collect.
  
 
 
Tell us about your previous experience/teams coached.
2 years of High School, 1 year student manager at a D1, 1 year coaching at D2 (current)
 
Who has been your biggest influence in your coaching career? Why?
Darren Vorderbruegge - Current head coach at Hawaii Pacific. Former D2 coach of the year. Gave me an opportunity. Took a shot on me and I've ran with it. Learn so much from him every day. Huge role model for me.
 
What is your favorite team meal?
Olive Garden

Ted Lasso - "The harder you work, the luckier you get"
 
Fun Fact: Tell us something about yourself that people would be surprised to know about you.
I moved out to Hawaii without ever coming here before. Never been on a vacation here or visited. Packed up my life, shipped my car, and came hungry for an opportunity.
 
As a member, what has been the most rewarding aspect/ favorite memory of Rising Coaches for you?
Networking with others and staying in touch. Love seeing others enjoy success in this profession.
